Rent a canoe or rowboat at the Rijnstroom and make a trip through the beautiful nature reserve Amelisweerd. On the way you can moor at teahouse Rhijnauwen (1 hour sailing from the Rijnstroom) for a cup of coffee and cake or a delicious pancake. Next door is Rhijnauwen Castle which is now used as a youth hostel. A round trip on the Utrecht canals is also among the possibilities and highly recommended. You sail past beautiful medieval canal houses, numerous bridges and, of course, the Dom Tower. The characteristic wharfs are used as terraces and many wharf cellars are home to restaurants.
